Mutterings and utterings of a budding novelist

About

I was born in Leeds, moved to Lytham St. Annes at 11, studied Graphic Design, Art, and Animation at college and uni, and then went on to work as a graphic designer at an advertising company where I still work today.

At some point during my further education I decided I would rather write for a living, be it through screenplays or novels, rather than be an animator. The study of art helped to illustrate what ever I was writing and even though Iā€™m not the most gifted artist, illustrating your own novel, rather than get somebody else to do it, is a double whammy of pride.

    Dear Mr Dawson,

I’ve just watched the trailer for ‘Tapestry of Fates’…in a doctor’s waiting room, the first time I’ve seen a book advertised in such a venue! I thought you might like to know that it contains a wrongly-spelled word – ‘tradgedy’ instead of ‘tragedy’. You might like to get in touch with your publisher about this, as such an obvious mistake might make potential customers wonder what the editing of the actual book is like.

    Best wishes,

    Julia

    • Hi Julia,
Thanks for the heads-up! Eeek! I’ll have that changed pronto. Fortunately the advert was given to me by my employer as they own the screens. The editing of the book itself was done by someone else at the publishers. šŸ™‚ Thanks again for letting me know. šŸ˜€
